A little about why we do what we do

Hi! Firstly, welcome! We thought we’d start up this blog page, for well, sharing thoughts and musings and anything retreat (or maybe sometimes not) related! 😊 I’m Charlene, and I put together all the retreats! 👋

I guess a place to start with this blog is about why we run them! There’s already a little bit on the About Us section but lets dive in with more! ☺️

The idea of running retreats was quite a natural one from our base of our studio Trika Yoga, in the South of Bristol, UK! The very first one we started out with was a ski + yoga retreat in Les Arcs, and since then we’ve expanded that to so many different places and countries! Mostly Europe and around the UK, as we are based in the UK (but we would love to head further afield one day!)

Each location that we run our retreats in has a personal connection behind it. They’ve been places in my life where I’ve found solace, calm, a snap out of the daily, and places that have managed to reset me when I’ve needed to the most. There’s something special about each place - a main thing being that they are surrounded by nature - whether that be the sea, the snow, the mountains, the trees.. which really make a different in giving one a break from the every day and make you take a deep breath out. Let the nature around you take your breath away (or, we hope, give you back some breath! 😆)

We choose our locations too that have a certain charm and quirk that you can’t quite put into words but it’s there- that brings you back to a slower tempo. Actually giving you the headspace to be able to take in the view around you, to appreciate the rolls of the sea, or the birds that sing in the evenings..
